Dante Bichette will resign after one season as the Colorado Rockies hitting coach, the Denver Post reported Tuesday.
Bichette cited family reasons for his decision to resign, according to the report.
Bichette, 49, is the father of two, and the Post reported that he struggled with being away from his family.
The Rockies have a 71-86 record heading into Tuesday night's game against the Red Sox. As of Tuesday morning, Colorado leads the National League in team batting average at .270, is tied for second in runs scored with 690, and is fourth in homers with 155.
