The Atlantic Coast Conference is considering holding a future ACC men's basketball tournament in New York, ESPN reported Friday.
With Pittsburgh and Syracuse joining the ACC next fall and Louisville and Notre Dame expected to join in 2014, according to the report, the ACC is thinking of moving its tournament site, perhaps to New York.
The deadline to bid for the 2016-2021 ACC tournaments was in September, and New York's Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn did not submit a bid.
But with the changing membership, the ACC is considering other options.
The 2013-2015 ACC men's basketball tournaments will be held in Greensboro, N.C., but the conference is considering moving the site in future years.
Other cities besides New York being considered to host the 2016-2021 ACC tournaments are Atlanta (Philips Arena), Charlotte, Greensboro, Tampa and Washington D.C.
Four cities that submitted bids to host the tournament in 2016-2021 have been eliminated -- Miami, Orlando, Pittsburgh and Atlanta (Georgia Dome).
