Reed shoots 10 of 11 as IPFW beats IU Kokomo 90-62

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- Joe Reed had 21 points on 10-of-11 shooting on Monday night to lead IPFW to victory in its home opener over IU Kokomo 90-62.

The Mastodons (1-1) never trailed and shot 58.7 percent from the field. Reed came off the bench to finish 10-of-11 with eight rebounds, two blocks and a 3-pointer. Michael Kibiloski added 20 points and 6 rebounds and Pierre Bland had eight of IPFW's 23 assists.

Spencer Krhin had 12 of his 14 points in the first half and was the only Cougar to finish in double figures. IU Kokomo is in its third year sponsoring men's basketball.

IPFW dominated the interior, outscoring the Cougars 62-12 in the paint.

IU Kokomo hit 5-of-6 3-pointers to start the game and trailed only 22-20 with 8:34 left in the first half before the Mastodons went on an 11-2 run and never looked back.
