Redskins sign RB Grant

Running back Ryan Grant has signed with the Redskins, according to FOXSports.com.

Grant reportedly received the call with the offer from Washington while in the Bears' locker room. He was in Chicago for a tryout Tuesday.

Rookie Alfred Morris has assumed the Redskins' feature role, but backups Roy Helu and Evan Royster suffered injuries against the Bengals on Sunday and both were banged up during the preseason as well.

Grant rushed for 559 yards and two touchdowns for the Packers last season. The seventh-year veteran spent the past five years with Green Bay.
