The Washington Redskins added a three-year veteran to their linebacker corps on Monday when they signed former Giants linebacker Jonathan Goff.
Goff, 26, missed the entire 2011 season due to a torn ACL. In his last season, Goff played all 16 games for the Giants, making a career-best 80 tackles with one sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He was a fifth-round draft pick out of Vanderbilt in 2008.
Goff will join a Redskins defense that allowed 22.7 points per game in 2011, and was in the bottom half of the league against the run (117.8 yards per game). He'll see his old team for the first time on October 21, when the Redskins travel to MetLife Stadium to face the Giants. The Giants will make the trip to Washington for Monday Night Football on December 3.
In 37 career games, Goff has 107 tackles, two sacks and an interception.
