The Washington Redskins announced that quarterback Robert Griffin III is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
Griffin sustained a sprained knee late in last Sunday's win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Kirk Cousins will make his first NFL start in replacing Griffin. Cousins came in for Griffin late in last Sunday's overtime victory.
During practices last week, Cousins worked solely with the first-team offense. Griffin, who practiced on a limited basis, was listed on the injury report as questionable during the week.
Coach Mike Shanahan had said that the decision on Griffin's availability would be left up to the team doctors.
Other Redskins inactive for Sunday's game include wide receivers Brandon Banks and Dezmon Briscoe, linebacker Roddrick Muckelroy, and offensive linemen Josh LeRibeus, Tom Compton and Adam Gettis.
