Defensive end Kentwan Balmer has missed the past two days of Redskins training camp, and coach Mike Shanahan said the team doesn't know where he is.
"Hopefully it's nothing very serious, Shanahan said after Wednesday's practice.
Balmer reported to training camp last week, but hasn't been seen for the past two days.
The former first-round pick of the 49ers was dealt to Seattle when he didn't report for camp in 2010. He played one season for the Seahawks before being released and spending a week with Carolina last year. The Panthers also cut Balmer, who then appeared in three games for the Redskins in 2011.
Redskins defensive end Stephen Bowen told the Washington Post that he hadn't spoken to Balmer and was disturbed by his absence.
