Oakland A's outfielder Josh Reddick and A's pitcher Sonny Gray are expected to undergo surgery to repair injuries, multiple media outlets reported.
Reddick was limited to 114 games because of a troublesome right wrist injury and hit just .226 with 12 homers this season. He is expected to undergo arthroscopic surgery on that wrist.
Gray will have surgery to repair the torn thumb ligament in his non-pitching hand. He went 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA during the regular season and was 1-1 in the postseason. He was the starting pitcher and the loser in Oakland's 3-0 loss to Detroit in the deciding game of the American League Division Series.
A's pitcher Jarrod Parker apparently will be able to avoid surgery on his injured forearm.
