Two minor-league pitchers in the Boston Red Sox organizations were suspended Wednesday for violating the drug policy.
Right-hander Gerson Bautista and left-hander Miguel Pena both received 50-game suspensions without pay in accordance with league policy.
Bautista tested positive for Stanozolol. He plays for the Dominican Summer League Red Sox and will serve his suspension at the start of the league's season.
Pena had a second positive test for a "drug of abuse," according to baseball. His suspension begins immediately. Pena is on the Salem Red Sox roster in the Class A Carolina League.
