Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice is inactive for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
Rice strained a hip flexor last Sunday against the Cleveland Browns and did not practice this past week.
Rice's streak of 43 straight starts comes to an end. It is the longest current streak for running backs. The last game he missed was a playoff loss at the Miami Dolphins in 2008.
Backup Bernard Pierce will make his first NFL start. He has 28 carries for 79 yards with a touchdown in Baltimore's first two games.
