Rays decline 2014 option on RHP Juan Oviedo

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- The Tampa Bay Rays have declined a $2 million club option on reliever Juan Oviedo for next season.

The team announced the move Monday night. Meanwhile, outfielder Brandon Guyer and right-handed pitchers Jeff Niemann and Alex Colome were moved from the 60-day disabled list to the 40-man roster.

Oviedo signed a minor league contract with the Rays last winter. He did not pitch in the major leagues in 2013 while recovering from surgery on his right elbow.

The right-hander had 92 saves for the Miami Marlins from 2009-11, when he was known as Leo Nunez.
