The Baltimore Ravens announced the release of safety Bernard Pollard Thursday, while re-signing cornerback Chris Johnson and safety James Ihedigbo.
With Pollard gone and Ed Reed meeting with Houston Texas officials, Ihedigbo is the team's only experienced safety. He appeared in all 16 games last season, starting three, for the Ravens.
The 29-year-old had 19 tackles and one sack along. Ihedigbo has also played for the New York Jets and New England Patriots for 2011.
Johnson, 33, was picked up in mid-November after being out of the game for almost a year. In his first game on Nov. 18, he forced a fumble against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He appeared in four regular-season game and recorded seven tackles.
