Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones, who returned a kickoff for a touchdown in last season's Super Bowl, suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee during Thursday night's regular-season opener and is likely to be out 4-6 weeks, ProFootballTalk.com reported Friday.
Based on the prognosis, Jones is not expected to require surgery.
Jones suffered the injury when he accidentally collided with teammate Brynden Trawick when Jones was fielding a punt. Jones' knee appear to hyperextend, making the injury look more serious than it was.
Jones caught 30 passes last season, and was a starter in this year's season-opening loss to Denver. He caught three passes for 24 yards before getting hurt on Thursday.
The Ravens have only six receivers on the active roster.
