The Baltimore Ravens terminated the contract of veteran tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, who was signed after Dennis Pitta was lost to a season-ending injury.
An 11-year veteran, Shiancoe was expected to compete for playing time alongside Ed Dixon. However, the team also signed veteran Dallas Clark, and the Ravens also have Billy Bajema, Matt Furstenburg and Alex Silvestro in the tight end mix.
Baltimore announced the signing of quarterback Dayne Crist and placed outside linebacker Adrian Hamilton on injured reserve.
The Ravens also waived 11 players: running back Damien Berry, wide receivers Rashaad Carter, Gerrard Sheppard and Tommy Streeter, offensive linemen Jack Cornell, Ramon Harewood and David Mims, linebackers Bryan Hall and Meshak Williams, cornerback Moe Lee and defensive end Will Pericak.
