Bruce Lee is considered one of the greatest martial artists of all time, even though he never put his skills to the test in competition.

As a result there hasn’t been any footage of Lee in action outside of his movies, leaving many to wonder how he would fare in a real fight.

Wonder no more.

A remastered video surfaced this week of Lee sparring with one of his best students during a martial arts demonstration in California:

The footage was captured during the 1967 Longbeach International Karate Championships and features Lee (on the left to start) and Ted Wong fighting in full protective gear.

Lee’s legendary speed and precision is on full display, as he keeps Wong at bay by repeatedly countering his attempts with a number of lightning-quick blows.

There was never any doubt that Lee possessed otherworldly abilities, but it’s satisfying to finally see them put to use against a real opponent.

Lee died in 1973 at the age of 32.
