The Oakland Raiders have signed veteran outside linebacker Kevin Burnett, the team announced Sunday.
Burnett started 16 games for the Miami Dolphins last season, when he had 80 tackles, 29 assists and 2.5 sacks.
He was recently released by the Dolphins.
The move suggests the Raiders may be thinking about switching to a 3-4 defense, although they have not said they will make that change.
Burnett's brother, Kaelin, is also a linebacker with the Raiders.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Kevin Burnett has played eight NFL season and has made 120 career starts.
He has 17.5 career sacks.
