Dennis Allen is still the Oakland Raiders head coach as of Monday, and he seems to believe he will keep the job for another year.
"I've been given an indication that I'll be back," Allen said Monday. "But we'll see."
Allen has met with general manager Reggie McKenzie, but he has not had a meeting with owner Mark Davis, who would have the final say on Allen's status.
But since Allen has not been told yet that he has been fired, it seems likely that he will be back for a third season despite the team's 8-24 record in his first two years.
If Allen is retained, his first task will be to resolve the quarterback issue. Matt McGloin and Terrelle Pryor each had some positive moments at quarterback, but neither looked like a franchise quarterback in 2013.
"I'm not sure if we have the quarterback of the future in the building right now," Allen said.
