The final week of spring practice is this week, starting with Monday's session inside Mollenkopf. Purdue has one more practice Wednesday before Saturday's spring game.
A couple notes from Monday with more to come:
• After the sometimes-physical scrimmage Saturday, Purdue had a couple new players on the injury list Monday. Cornerback Brandon Shuman injured his left knee in the scrimmage, and Coach Jeff Brohm said the severity of the injury isn't yet known. Safety Jacob Thieneman had just returned to practice last week after having surgery on a hand from the first scrimmage, only to break his clavicle on Saturday. Thieneman will have surgery, Brohm said. Walk-on safety Wes Cook left practice with ice on his knee, an injury that could have occurred Saturday, as well.
• The Boilermakers also got a couple injured players back on Monday, too. Running backs Markell Jones and Brian Lankford-Johnson got team snaps, though Lankford didn't finish practice and had ice on his right hamstring at the end of it. Austin Larkin was in pads for the first half of practice before ending it working out in the pit.
• Wide receiver Terrance Landers, who'd missed most of spring to get things "cleaned up" in the classroom per Brohm, was participating in practice Monday. He was with the second-team offense, probably not surprising because Jarrett Burgess and D'J Edwards remain sidelined.
