The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Friday announced that Chris Wilson has withdrawn from UFC 98. Stepping in to take his place is Xtreme Couture fighter Mike Pyle.
Making his UFC debut against Brock Larson on Saturday night, Pyle has a 17-5-1 professional MMA record. He is currently on a four-fight winning streak, having defeated Brian Gassaway last October in his most recent action.
At 25-2, Larson is also on a four-fight victorious streak. Having last tasted defeat to former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit, Larson recently defeated Jesse Sanders at UFC Fight Night 18 in Tennessee, marking his return to the Octagon.
Wilson and his family, including two children, were recently held at gunpoint and robbed in their apartment in Brazil.
"They put everything in my car, made me take them somewhere. It was just terrible. Wasn't sure if I was coming back from that one. But it all worked out," Wilson told The Canadian Press recently. Neither he nor his family was injured.
