Predators fan tosses catfish on the ice in Pittsburgh (Video)

It didn’t take long for the first carcass to hit the ice in the Stanley Cup Final.

Midway through the second period of Game 1, a catfish was heaved from the stands at the PPG Paints Arena and splattered across the blue line. It was gross, even if it has been a common sight at Predators games for years now.

Here’s a look at the vile creature being scooped up by the Penguins ice crew.

So much for that catfish ban.

The perp attempted to flee the scene, but was quickly apprehended by security. Here’s what appears to be the catfish-tosser being escorted toward the exit.

He is wearing a shirt bearing the logo of a local Nashville sports radio program (The Midday 180). The official Twitter account of The Midday also tweeted out a photo which appeared to show their logo on a crumbled piece of paper lying next to the catfish on the ice.

The scent of dead fish must have reinvigorated the Predators, who scored shortly after to cut the deficit to 3-1 and dominated the Penguins in the second period.
