Point guard Kevin Olekaibe is transferring from Fresno State to play his final season of college basketball elsewhere.
The junior averaged 8.3 points per game this past season after suffering an offseason arm injury. As a sophomore, he scored 17.8 points per game.
"First of all, I want to thank the fans," Olekaibe said in a release issued by the university. "Since I've been here, everyone has given me support. This decision was a hard one, but I've got the support of my coaches and teammates as I do what I have to in order to expand my game -- playing with the ball more, developing my skills as a point guard, distributing the ball and not just being one-dimensional.
"One of the main reasons that I had to make this tough decision is so that I can be closer to home and be with my family more. I've appreciated the time that I have spent in Fresno. It has been a good three years and I'm totally grateful for the experiences that I have had."
