This week’s edition of the Yahoo! Soccer Podcast, in conjunction with World Football Daily, takes an in-depth look at the United States men’s Olympic team as it begins its bid to qualify for the Games in London later this year.

The USA, led by captain Freddy Adu, takes on Cuba, Canada and El Salvador in the group stage of CONCACAF qualifying, with the top three from the region making the trip across the pond in late July. Host Martin Rogers chats with MLSsoccer.com correspondent GianFranco Panizo as Adu and his colleagues start off on a road they hope will end with more success than in 2008, when the team was eliminated in the group stage at Beijing.

The big moments of the week in world soccer are also dissected, with regular contributor and renowned author Michael Pearlman returning to discuss Manchester City’s comeback victory against Chelsea, thanks in no small part to the previously exiled Carlos Tevez.

Daily Telegraph writer Jonathan Liew and Tottenham defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto also come on the show to talk about Fabrice Muamba, the Bolton midfielder who collapsed on the field at White Hart Lane last weekend and was clinically dead for 78 minutes before being resuscitated.
