Louisville junior center Gorgui Dieng is expected to leave school to enter the NBA draft after this season, CBSSports.com reported Wednesday.
Cardinals coach Rick Pitino put the chances of this season being the 6-foot-11 Dieng's last in college at 98 percent. In fact, Pitino is so confident the Senegal native is gone that he'll be included in senior-day festivities during Louisville's final regular-sseason home game Saturday against Notre Dame.
"If he is projected as a first-rounder, he is leaving," Pitino said, according to CBS Sports . "And I'm almost sure he'll be taken in the first round."
Dieng is averaging 9.9 points and 10 rebounds per game this season for the Cardinals (25-5, 13-4 Big East). But his defense and shot-blocking could be his ticket to the NBA.
