In addition to Monday's nine featured Pickups of the Week, Yahoo! Sports fantasy expert Brandon Funston offered a Friday update on five hitters on the rise that weren't profiled in Monday's POW. And also on Friday, Brad Evans goes through the same drill for pitchers. The same criteria applies - players must be available in more than half of Yahoo! leagues.
Philly a definite difference-maker down the homestretch
Kyle Kendrick (SP) Philadelphia Phillies
Previously overshadowed by Philly aces Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay, the righty has been the one who's carried his club on his back. The 18th-best hurler over the past month in the Yahoo! game, Kendrick has compiled a sparkling 1.78 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 6.92 K/9 in 35.1 IP. With the Phillies back in the wild card hunt, the good times should keep on rolling. His next start Saturday versus Houston could be a masterpiece. Over the final two weeks, he's more than just a streamer.
Bucco could push your opponents off the plank
Kevin Correia (SP) Pittsburgh Pirates
A fairly reliable SP5 in NL-only formats, the underrated Correia hasn't drawn much attention from the mixed masses. But, since August 1, he's notched a respectable 3.72 ERA. Solid in his past two quality starts, he should extend the streak in his next turn against woeful Chicago, an opponent he tossed six strong against in a win July 25 (2 ER, 4 K). If you have innings to spare, pick up and plug in.

Converted reliever finding niche as a starter
Andrew Cashner (SP) San Diego Padres
Reinserted into the rotation versus Arizona on September 7, Cashner was a fantasy money tree of sorts, allowing just two earned on four hits, zero walks with five strikeouts in five innings. His improved control and high-K upside are very attractive qualities, especially when presented with an exploitable matchup. Slated to toe the rubber Friday versus Colorado, he's a must stream in any sized format.
Former top prospect finally tapping into potential
Homer Bailey (SP) Cincinnati Reds
Quietly, Bailey has busted out over the past month. In three turns this month, he's surrendered just four earned and totaled 22 strikeouts in 21.2 innings. With his command much improved, he's drawn weaker contact (49.1 GB% in Sept), missed more bats and kept the ball in the park. With the woeful Marlins and Cubs upcoming, he's 100-percent pure fantasy gold. Strike it rich.
L14 rank 25
Matchup heaven in store for Bravo
Paul Maholm (SP) Atlanta Braves
Since coming over from the Cubs in July, the southpaw has delivered appreciable numbers in his new digs. In eight starts with the Braves, he's allowed four earned or more just twice. With consecutive starts against Miami on the docket, he could come up huge with virtual trophies on the line. Add. Reap. Win.
