The Philadelphia Phillies could be without ace right-hander Roy Halladay for up to two months, dealing a severe blow to the team's already fading playoff hopes.
Halladay was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a right lat strain. Halladay is expected to miss six to eight weeks, according to multiple reports.
Halladay left Sunday's start after two innings with a sore right shoulder, explaining later that he first started to feel discomfort in his previous start against Washington, but pitched through it.
The Phillies are already coping with multiple injuries, including those to first baseman Ryan Howard and Chase Utley. Philadelphia is in last-place in the National League East.
