Phillies' Kendrick has mild concussion

Right-hander Kyle Kendrick of the Philadelphia Phillies has been diagnosed with a mild concussion after he was hit on the back of the helmet by a pitch during the sixth inning of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

The Phillies did not say on Monday if Kendrick's next start is in jeopardy.

Kendrick was unable to duck out of the way by a pitch from Stephen Fife of the Dodgers, but went to first base and pitched the sixth inning before leaving the game because he had a headache.

Kendrick (7-5) gave up four runs and 10 hits in six innings and took the loss.
