Philadelphia Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz's difficult season just got even tougher.
After sitting out the first 25 games of the season serving a PED-related suspension, Ruiz is likely headed to the 15-day disabled list after straining his right hamstring on Sunday.
Ruiz sustained the injury while running the bases in the bottom of the second inning against the Cincinnati Reds and left the game.
Catcher Humberto Quintero will probably be recalled from Class AAA Lehigh Valley if Ruiz lands on the DL.
Erik Kratz replaced Ruiz behind the plate Sunday.
While Ruiz has been hitting better as of late, he is batting .235 with no home runs in 56 plate appearances since making his season debut April 28.
He could be out two to four weeks.
