Peterson leads Arkansas State over Troy 58-50

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) -- Brandon Peterson had 15 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots, and Arkansas State clinched the Sun Belt Conference's West Division title with a 58-50 win against cold-shooting Troy on Saturday night.

Trey Finn added 13 points and Cameron Golden nine for the Red Wolves (18-9, 12-6), who clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament on March 8-11. They have won four straight games and seven of their last eight.

Antoine Myers had 21 points and seven rebounds for the Trojans (11-18, 6-12), who shot just 29.2 percent (19 of 65) from the floor and trailed 25-14 at intermission. Troy had a 9:39 scoreless stretch in the first half.

Hunter Williams scored 10 points for Troy, which has lost three straight attempts to get coach Don Maestri his 500th career win.
