The Nashville Predators and Arizona Coyotes are off to rough starts. The Preds are 3-5-3. The Yotes are 4-7-0. It’s all pretty bad.

How bad? So bad that the Bovada has taken coaches Peter Laviolette and Dave Tippett from being off the board and has odds on them being fired this season.

Laviolette, hired in 2014, and Tippett, who has coached the Coyotes since 2009, now have 13-to-2 odds on getting canned this season. Which is weird, because Nashville GM David Poile goes through coaches like most of us go through cars – i.e. driving them until the engine dies and the wheels fall off – and Tippett is in a quasi-managerial role with the Coyotes and new GM John Chayka.

Here are the updated odds:

As you can see, Alain Vigneault and Claude Julien are now off the board thanks to the respective hot starts for the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins respectively.

Michel Therrien, curiously, remains on the board at 15-to-1. What hath that loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets wrought?!
