Paul Millsap finished with 16 points and recorded 14 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season, to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a blowout victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 108-89. The Hawks put together a very efficient performance, turning it over on only 12 possessions while totaling 31 assists. This is the second win in as many games for Atlanta (11-10) after beating Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Millsap shot 7-14 from the field, including 1-3 on 3-point attempts. Other top performers for Atlanta were Al Horford with 22 points and 9 rebounds, Jeff Teague with 13 points and 6 assists, and DeMarre Carroll with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Dion Waiters had another quality performance off the bench for Cleveland despite the loss, putting up 30 points on 13-20 shooting, including 1-4 from behind the arc.
The Hawks combined hot shooting (eFG% of 56.0%) with high-quality work on the offensive backboards (OR% of 31.1%). They are 1-0 on the season when exceeding 55% and 30%, respectively, in those metrics. The Cavaliers, however, are 0-1 when giving up those numbers to their opponents.
