The New England Patriots officially activated tight end Rob Gronkowski for Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
The move ended several weeks of speculation about Gronkowski's recovery from offseason surgeries on his back and broken forearm. Gronkowski has practiced throughout the regular season and listed as questionable on the team's injury report but has not played. He was finally cleared to play Friday.
Gronkowski has four touchdowns in his last two meetings with the Jets.
The Patriots' inactives are wide receiver Danny Amendola, offensive lineman Chris Barker, wide receiver Josh Boyce, defensive tackle Tommy Kelly, cornerback Aqib Talib, running back Leon Washington and defensive back Tavon Wilson.
