Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart had to leave Sunday's preseason game against the Jets after sustaining an injury to his right ankle.
Stewart was able to walk off the field after rolling his ankle in the second quarter, but he rode on a cart back to the Panthers' locker room.
Stewart left the Panthers' previous preseason game against the Dolphins with a calf injury.
Earlier this month, Stewart signed a five-year contract extension worth $36.5 million.
