Jonathan Huberdeau out 3-4 months after taking skate to leg (Video)
The Florida Panthers will be leaving West Point Sunday night with another injury to deal with.
During their preseason win over the New Jersey Devils Saturday night, the Panthers lost Jonathan Huberdeau with a lower body injury that GM Tom Rowe described to the Sun-Sentinel’s Harvey Fialkov as “long term.”
The Panthers later confirmed that Huberdeau will be out 3-4 months.

The injury occurred early in the first period when Huberdeau got tied up behind the New Jersey net with defenseman Sergey Kalinin. As the two untangled, Kalinin’s skate landed on the back of Huberdeau’s foot.
Huberdeau, who inked a six-year extension last month, joins Nick Bjugstad as Panthers players who will not be on the roster opening night. Bjugstad is expected to miss four weeks with a broken hand.
