Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson had knee surgery and is out for the remainder of training camp, coach Mike McCarthy announced Tuesday.
Also, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that wide receiver Randall Cobb left practice Tuesday after sustaining a bicep injury.
According to NFL.com, Nelson's injury is a nerve issue he has dealt with off and on since he played collegiately at Kansas State. The Packers are hopeful he can return in time for the season opener Sept. 8 at the San Francisco 49ers.
Nelson and Cobb are quarterback Aaron Rodgers' main targets, along with wide receiver James Jones.
Cobb had 954 receiving yards with eight touchdowns last year while Nelson had 745 receiving yards with seven touchdowns.
