Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley had successful spinal fusion surgery on Thursday, according to the NFL Network.
Finley is able to walk, and he planned to return to Green Bay on Friday. He hopes to start working out lightly and recover in three to four months.
Finley is on injured reserve after sustaining a spinal contusion during the Packers' game against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 20.
Despite the severity of the injury, Finley, 26, hopes to return. His contract with the Packers expires at the end of the season.
