The Green Bay Packers went out and signed one of the most recognizable tight ends in the league this offseason. Martellus Bennett was brought in on a three-year deal worth $18.45 million.

Much was made last season about NFL players being outraged over celebration fines, while others could celebrate without any repercussions.

Well, say no more, that problem appears to be over; that is according to the NFL league office.

Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Troy Vincent, is preparing to release a video showing players what will be fined, and what will not, for excessive celebrations.

It was fully expected that many players would publicly voice their disgust with the video and it was the newest Packer who struck first.

In a series of tweets, Martellus Bennett was not shy about his thoughts.

The NFL must wait and see if other players join Bennett in voicing their opinions on this new idea. It has become common for players to go against the shield as of late.

NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell said on ESPN’s “Mike & Mike” about the potential clarification, “What I would like to do is get our officials out of that and allow our officials to officiate and focus on the important things in the game … not judging whether they stay within the standards of the video or not. I want to reach out to our players and find out what are the right standards for us here, because it reflects on all of us.”

Last year there were 30 of these penalties and not all of which were followed up with a fine, causing many to criticize the NFL for it’s lack of consistency.

This is not the first time Bennett has attacked the league. Last August he and his brother, Michael, when asked about Goodell responded, “A–hole. Nah, I’m just joking — you can’t say that. Overpaid.”

They continued to make light of football’s most famous three letters, “N.F.L” stand for things like “No fun league”, “Not for long”, and “N—–s For Lease.”

It is not clear if this new video will make an impact, however, Bennett’s opinion will certainly be heard.
