The Green Bay Packers made it official, cutting struggling quarterback Graham Harrell.

With Harrell being released and the impressive performance of quarterback Vince Young, Young now becomes the backup to Aaron Rodgers.

Meanwhile, the Packers signed rookie kicker Zach Ramirez and released wide receiver Alex Gillette, wide receiver Omarius Hines, running back Angelo Pease, defensive tackle Gilbert Peña and wide receiver Justin Wilson.

Ramirez, a 6-foot, 212-pound rookie out of Portland State, participated in the Seattle Seahawks’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis in May. As a junior he was named first-team All-American and earned first-team All-Big Sky Conference honors after connecting on a school-record 24 field goals on 27 attempts.
