After weeks of play, a big patch change, and the demise of seven other teams, Immortals emerged victorious at the Overwatch Winter Premiere finals played at PAX South over the weekend.

Taking home the $40,000 grand prize, Immortals proved themselves to be the best team at the North American tournament through aggressive play, largely on the back of DPS Christopher “GrimReality” Schaefer and flex Brady “Agilities” Girardi.

Second place and $20,000 went to Ghost, the team known for much of the tournament as Kungara, who started the grand finals strong but eventually collapsed under Immortals’ relentless offense.

Third place was taken by Luminosity Gaming, who faced off against compLexity Gaming in the third place match. The bronze medal could have gone either way for much of the match, with Luminosity winning the first maps, compLexity storming back for two of their own and finally having their flame snuffed out on Nepal.

With the Premiere over, the eyes of the Overwatch world have turned back to APEX Season 2, which is in the midst of its group stages. For more Overwatch coverage, keep it right here on Yahoo Esports.
