New Orleans Pelicans point guard Greivis Vasquez will have offseason surgery on both ankles, the New Orleans Times Picayune reported.
The surgery is believed to be relatively minor and similar to what guard Eric Gordon had recently to remove bone spurs in his left ankle, according to the report.
The Times Picayune noted that El Universal, a newspaper based in Caracas, Venezuela, reported that the recovery time is expected to be 12 to 16 weeks.
If that is accurate, Vasquez would be ready to play when training camp starts in October.
Vazquez averaged 13.9 points and 9.0 assists this past season, which was his third in the NBA.
