Orioles' Chen earns first big league win

Wei-Yin Chen showed signs of the talented starter the Baltimore Orioles thought they had when
signing him this winter.
The lefty got into the sixth inning, scattering two runs on six hits and two walks
while striking out four. He threw 99 pitches -- 64 of them for strikes.
The 3-2 Orioles win over the White Sox was Chen's first big league victory.
He cruised through five innings before the Orioles put some runs on the board in the
top half of the sixth. Chicago got to him for three hits, a walk and a wild pitch in the
sixth before Darren O'Day came on.
The Orioles bullpen tossed 3.2 scoreless innings of relief.
Manager Buck Showalter knows what he can expect from his top three starters, but it is
Chen and fellow lefty Brian Matusz that will ultimately determine the club's ceiling this
Chen will have an advantage early in the year as other clubs try to learn his
