Oregon defensive coordinator Aliotti to retire

Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti will retire after Monday's Alamo Bowl game against Texas, the university announced Friday on its official Twitter account.

Aliotti, 59, has been a coach for 38 years and spent 21 seasons on the Oregon staff over three different stints.

He worked under four different Oregon head coaches: Rich Brooks, Mike Bellotti, Chip Kelly and Mark Helfrich.

This season, Oregon ranked 25th in the nation in scoring defense and 14th in pass defense.

In 2012, the Ducks led the country in turnovers forced, with 40 takeaways.
