"Operation Mekong" wins big at the CA Film Fest


7 Nov - Dante Lam's "Operation Mekong" became the biggest winner at the Chinese American Film Festival, bagging three accolades at the event held in Los Angeles recently.

As reported on Sina News, the movie, which is based on the true story known as the Mekong Massacre in which two Chinese commercial vessels were ambushed while travelling down the Mekong River, won Best Film as well as Best Producer for Bona Film Group President Yu Dong.

In addition, one of its stars, Zhang Hanyu, was also awarded Best Actor for his role as the captain of the narcotics unit, Gao Gang.

The actor, who attended the event to accept the award, later shared the good news online, and wrote, "Operation Mekong won Best Film, Best Producer and Best Actor at the 12th Chinese American Film Festival! I dedicate this golden angel award to the sacrificed heroes. In my heart, you are the golden angels!"

Co-star Eddie Peng also shared the news online, and wrote, "Congratulations to the whole team!"
