Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson will sit out Friday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets because of a plantar fascia tear in his right heel.
The team offered no timetable for Lawson's return, listing his status as day to day.
With the heel bothering Lawson on Wednesday night, he was ineffective in the Nuggets' 100-99 loss to San Antonio, finishing with two points on 1-of-7 shooting from the field and three assists in limited minutes.
"I'll probably need to take a couple days off to let it heal all the way," Lawson said after Wednesday's game.
In 69 games this season, Lawson is averaging 16.7 points and 6.9 assists.
Andre Miller, who missed a potential winning shot Wednesday against the Spurs, will fill Lawson's role while he's sidelined.
