It's not even April yet and Northwestern already has a coveted pair of bookend defensive ends for its Class of 2018.
Three-star DE Andrew Leota committed to the Wildcats on Friday morning. He joins four-star Devin O'Rourke in what is now a dynamic pass-rushing duo.
Leota announced his verbal pledge on Twitter:
Leota, a 6-foot-3, 220-pounder from Asheville (N.C.), chose Northwestern over an impressive offer list that included Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Duke, Purdue and Rutgers. He is the 45th-ranked recruit in North Carolina.
Leota is the eighth commitment in Northwestern's class, which is currently ranked 13th in the nation by Rivals.
