Joel Smith scored a game-high 21 points as visiting Northeastern defeated Towson 70-59 on Saturday.
Northeastern (9-7, 4-0 Colonial Athletic Association) won its fourth straight game while Towson fell to 8-9 and 3-1.
Northeastern shot 46.3 percent from the field. Quincy Ford added 10 points for the Huskies.
Jerrelle Benimon scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and had 11 rebounds for Towson, which shot 43.6 percent. Bilal Dixon made all six of his attempts from the floor for 12 points. Jerome Hairston also scored 12 points. Marcus Damas grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for the Tigers.
The Tigers outrebounded the Huskies 33-22 but turned the ball over 19 times. The Huskies only had 10 turnovers.
Northeastern led 39-33 at the half.
