Senior forward Adrian Powell scored 23 points, leading North Carolina A&T to a 63-62 victory over Coppin State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Monday night at Corbett Sports Center.
| Powell was one of two players who scored in double figures for the Aggies (10-11, 3-3 MEAC), who have won three of their last four games. Junior guard Lamont Middleton recorded a double-double, posting 14 points and 10 rebounds. Senior forward Austin Witter also had a strong game for the Aggies, registering eight points, eight rebounds, five assists and four blocked shots.
Junior guard Andre Armstrong scored a game-high 27 points for the Eagles (5-17, 2-5), who have lost three of their last four. Junior forward Michael Murray had 11 points and seven rebounds. Junior forward Charles Ieans scored 10 points.
Neither team shot particularly well. North Carolina A&T shot 43.3 percent from the field and made just 7-of-23 3-point attempts. Coppin State shot 40 percent, but the Eagles connected on 13-of-23 from beyond the arc. North Carolina A&T dominated the boards, amassing a 34-22 rebounding advantage.
