Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier are both interested in the head coaching vacancy with the New York Rangers, according to Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos.
.Messier has no NHL head coaching experience, but he did coach Team Canada at the 2010 Deutschland Cup and the Spengler Cup. He's currently a "special assistant" to president and GM Glen Sather.
Gretzky spent four seasons coaching the Phoenix Coyotes, failing to make the playoffs in any of the four seasons.
It's unclear whether the Rangers have any interest in Gretzky or Messier as a head coach candidate.
---The Chicago Blackhawks announced that they agreed to terms with forward Alex Broadhurst on a three-year entry-level contract.
The Blackhawks drafted Broadhurst in the seventh round of the 2011 draft.
The forward also led the Green Bay Gamblers to the 2012 Clark Cup title and was named to the 2012 All-USHL First Team.

---Jim Nill, the Dallas Stars new general manager, announced assistant GM Frank Provenzano would no longer be with the organization.
Also, Scott White, the general manager of the Texas AHL team, would serve as Dallas' director of hockey operations.
