Los Angeles (AFP) - NFL 2015 Week Two highlights:

- Play of the week -

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton lived up to his Superman nickname with an acrobatic front flip over a defender to score the go-ahead points in the Panthers' 24-17 victory over the Houston Texans.

"I was flipping, I was like, 'Hey, I don't know how this is going to end,'" said Newton, who also threw for two touchdowns as the Panthers improved to 2-0.

- High flyers -

The New England Patriots extended their dominance over AFC East rivals Buffalo with a 40-32 victory.

Tom Brady's 466 passing yards were the second-highest total of his career. He connected on three TD passes as the Pats beat the Bills for the 24th time in 27 meetings.

- Low riders -

The New York Giants fell 24-20 to the visiting Atlanta Falcons became the first team in NFL history to blow double-digit leads to lose back-to-back games to start a season.

In a play that proved a turning point late in the third quarter, Giants quarterback Eli Manning was steps from the end zone, holding the ball behind the line of scrimmage preparing to throw. But he held the ball too long and was sacked from behind.

He fumbled and the Giants lost possession, the Falcons scoring two touchdowns from there to rally for the win.

- MVP of the week -

Number one draft pick Jameis Winston rebounded from his forgettable NFL debut, throwing for one touchdown and scrambling for another to lead Tampa Bay to a 26-19 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Winston displayed his mental toughness, completing 14 of 21 passes for 206 yards, including a 15-yard scoring pass to wide receiver Vincent Jackson just before halftime.
