Nebraska-Omaha outpaces Seattle University 76-69

RALSTON, Neb. (AP) -- CJ Carter scored 17 points and Nebraska-Omaha has won six of their last seven games in beating Seattle University 76-69 on Sunday.

Nebraska-Omaha (9-4) averages 84 points per game, but shot only 28 percent from the floor in the first half and were outrebounded 20-12, but still only trailed the Redhawks 26-22 going into the break.

A Karhoff jumper for Nebraska-Omaha tied the game at 33 with 15 minutes to play, but the lead changed hands several times until UNO forged a 12 point lead with two minutes left. Seattle U (8-4) stormed back, capped by Isiah Umpig nailing a tre with a minute left and the Redhawks trailed by two, 67-65.

A fast-break layup by Alex Phillips and some clutch free throws in the final minute secured the win for Nebraska-Omaha.

Umpig scored a career-high 35 points for Seattle University in the loss.
