Heidelberg University running back Cartel Brooks set an NCAA record on Saturday with 465 rushing yards in a Division III game.
Brooks carried 38 times in a 41-14 victory over Baldwin-Wallace to break the record of 455 yards in a game set three weeks ago by Western Connecticut's Octavias McKoy.
Heidelberg play in the Ohio Athletic Conference, which includes perennial powerhouse Mount Union.
Another NCAA record was set Saturday when Tusculum senior quarterback Bo Cordell broke the career total offense mark in a Division II game against Mars Hill.
Cordell finished his college career with 16,432 total yards, eclipsing the record of 16,064 yards of total offense set by quarterback Jimmy Terwilliger of East Stroudsburg from 2003 to 2006.
In Tusculum's 49-42 victory on Saturday, Cordell threw for 569 yards, completing 34 of 56 passes for five touchdowns and two interceptions.
Cordell also holds Division II career records for yards passing (16,265) and pass completions (1,397). He ranks third in all NCAA divisions in yards passing and completions and fourth in total offense.
Houston Texans quarterback Case Keenum holds the NCAA career records for completions (1,546), yards passing (19,217) and total offense (20,114), which he set while playing for the Houston Cougars from 2007 to 2011.
